For months it was presumed that gold would be a bubble but continued threats of European debt contagion and ongoing weakness in consumer reports continued to drive it back to highs.
Extreme volatility is prompting many investors to hang onto their positions in gold or consider mining stocks as a means of profiting from the gold demand at a cheaper entry point. The slow down in global growth and rampant unemployment stateside are likely to keep the dollar from flourishing in the near future. This in turn will lead gold higher and create demand and greater profit potential for miners.

There is a growing body of evidence supporting ongoing strong demand for gold and continued strength for miners. The weak payroll expectations tomorrow could lengthen the market volatility and continue to strengthen commodities and miners.

This may be disappointing for the overall economy but it could help support Samaranta Mining Corporation (SAX.TSXV), which announced promising results from its 501 line kilometer Helicopter Magnetometer and Gamma Spectrometer survey on four of their properties in August. The survey yielded several areas of interest, including their Guadalupe property in Colombia.

The data, while still raw and unfiltered, prompted a preliminary surface investigation of select areas of interest and other targets. Existing data is being processed in an attempt to identify anomalies which may represent massive sulphide mineralization. Should the mineralization exist as the company expects, Samaranta’s properties have the potential to drive massive profits. This is especially true during periods of economic uncertainty like this one.

Samaranta is in the early stages of an aggressive diamond drill program of the most prospective targets. The programs are intended reveal further data regarding the company’s profit potential. Top officials at the company are enthusiastic about what the results the drilling might yield and how that could help them achieve increased profit potential, especially in the current economy.

The history of nearby success in gold mining and the similarities between the properties that have previously yielded impressive quantities of gold lead Samaranta’s President and CEO, Dr. Volkmar Hable to optimistic conclusions.

Hable is reportedly eager to see the interpretation of the airborne survey and how it fits with the known mineralization at Frontino. He has expressed confidence in the property’s contents on the basis that the adjoining property has been mined for over 150 years, while this is the first investigation into Guadalupe.

For more articles and releases on Samaranta Mining Corporation:

http://www.equities.com/summary?s=sax.tsxv

Samaranta Releases Preliminary Results Form Airborne Survey Over Guadalupe Property, Colombia

SAMARANTA RECEIVES PRELIMINARY RESULTS FORM AIRBORNE SURVEY OVER

GUADALUPE PROPERTY, COLUMBIA

(via equities.com, NewsRoom)

Vancouver BC, August 5, 2011 Samaranta Mining Corporation (TSX.V:SAX) announces that further to its press release of July 14, 2011 MPX Geophysics of Markham Ontario (“MPX”) has completed 501 line kilometer Helicopter Magnetometer and Gamma Spectrometer (Radiometrics) survey on four separate Samaranta properties, including the Guadalupe property, located adjacent to the northern boundary of the Frontino Gold Mines in Antioquia, Colombia.

The raw unfiltered field data from the survey has revealed several areas of interest. A preliminary surface investigation of select areas of interest and other targets is underway. The data from the complete survey is now being processes in an effort to identify anomalies which may represent massive sulphide mineralization. Upon the completion of a detailed interpretation and a surface exploration program, Samaranta intends to undertake and aggressive diamond drill program of the most prospective targets. In anticipation of drilling the Company has issued tender for drilling and is currently reviewing bids.

Dr. Volkmar Hable President and CEO of Samaranta stated, “We are anxious to see the interpretation of the airborne survey and how it fits with the known mineralization at Frontino. These are very exciting times for Samaranta given the adjoining property has been mined for over 150 years while our property is about to be drill tested for the first time.”

About Samaranta:

Samaranta's key asset is the Guadalupe property that is strategically located on the northern boundary of the Frontino Gold Mine (“FGM”). FGM has been in production since about 1852 with recorded production totaling about 4.6 million ounces. Both Guadalupe and FGM are underlain primarily by the same granodioritic rocks of the Segovia batholith. The Segovia Gold Belt is a region of granodioritic rocks measuring approximately 300 km in length by up to 75 km in width defined by a strong fault zone system trending approximately north-south. Gold mineralization within this belt is primarily associated with quartz veins and narrow vein swarms that are spatially related to the major north to northeast trending fault structures.

Technical information in this news release has been reviewed by Derrick Strickland, P.Geo., a qualified person as defined in NI 43-101.

SAMARANTA MINING CORPORATION

Per: Volkmar Hable,

President

Neither the TSX Venture Exchange nor its Regulation Services Provider (as that term is defined in policies of the TSX Venture Exchange) accepts responsibility for the adequacy or accuracy of this release.

Legion Resources Corp. The latter half of the trip includes visiting Cevisama, the International Ceramic Tile and Bath Furnishings Show held in Valencia, factory and booth tours and a press conference.

Education Program Description

Advanced manufacturing technologies have literally changed the face of ceramic tile. If “faux”, “interior finish”, “twelve inch”, “beige” and “boring” come to mind when you think of ceramic tile, be prepared to have your perceptions challenged. Ventilated facades, raised floor systems, integrated domotics and biomimicry are 21st century sustainable ceramic tile design solutions. Slim format tile, glaze nano-technologies, third generation porcelain tile and digital print techniques are aesthetic and technical advances every design professional should be familiar with.

Industry expert and Tile of Spain ceramic tile consultant Patti Fasan will take us on a passionate tour of this technical and stylistic revolution, global trends and the sustainable stewardship that has emerged in the world of ceramic tile over the past decade. The program includes three components:

Part I – Factory Tour: Industry, Art & Architecture
120 minutes, 2.0 AIA CEU

The guided factory tour covers the history of ceramic tile, types of tile and how they differ, the technical tour of a modern ceramic tile manufacturing plant and its processes will highlight the advanced technologies employed in state-of-the-art production. Learn how calibration, dye lot, and color variation occur and how to control effects of these variables on a project. Understand the expertise demanded to produce sustainable ceramic tile products and learn how to avoid common selection and installation problems. Explore emerging trends in technology and how they are driving ceramic tile growth and continued innovation.

Participants will be able to:

Explore 21st century ceramic tile manufacturing.

Understand types of tile.

Avoid common problems: color variation, tile calibration and dye lots.

Explore trends that are driving the growth of ceramic tile.

Part II - Specification Value
90 minutes, 1.5 AIA CEU

Provides architectural, interior design, and specifying consultants with information needed to qualify and select the most suitable ceramic tile for rapidly expanding and diverse applications. The three most important technical ISO standards will be simplified: surface wear abrasion (PEI), water absorption and coefficient of friction. Qualify any tile based on proven test parameters.

Participants will be able to:

Utilize major advances in tile production to enhance aesthetic & functional value of the project.

Identify the four tile types and classify each according to their specific and best area of use.

Select tile characteristics to maximize performance in the anticipated environment.

Formulate a reliable ceramic tile graph to integrate in the client interview process.

Part III - Design for Life
60 minutes, 1.0 AIA CEU

Facts are seldom black and white - the common sense sustainable benefits of tile are not a gray area. They are decidedly green. Environmental issues regarding: indoor air quality, occupant health and safety, product durability and replacement frequency, affordability, maintenance/cleaning products and the ecosystem as well as the burden on landfill sites will have participants questioning whether their chosen specifications could be more beneficial to our planet.

Participants will be able to:

Appraise the opportunity inherent in ceramic tile which enhances sustainable design principles.

Identify advanced tile technologies to achieve superior performance based specifications.

List four tile characteristics that reduce indoor air pollutants and enhance occupant health.

Select at least five specification innovations to reduce construction waste.

The Spanish Ceramic Tile Manufacturer’s Association (ASCER) is the private organization whose primary objective is to support Spain’s ceramic tile manufacturers and the industry as a whole by stewarding and promoting the Tile of Spain brand worldwide. A strong global leader, the ceramic tile industry of Spain comprises more than 220 manufacturers concentrated primarily in the province of Castellón. For more about tile produced in Spain, contact Tile of Spain Center at the Trade Commission of Spain, 2655 Le Jeune Road, Suite 1114, Coral Gables, FL 33134. Booth #7-8086 at Chicago’s iconic Merchandise Mart was a gathering place for visitors to see Spanish product up close and personal, learn more about trends in ceramic tile and to tour varying regions of Spain through authentic wine and cheese selections.

Ceramic Skin: Form & Function 2010

Patti Fasan, Tile of Spain’s ceramic tile consultant took visitors through the emerging trends in the ceramic industry in a series of seminars ideal for the commercial design specifier. Vibrant images took them through the color, texture, size and shape of ceramic that today’s consumers are looking for to customize and personalize home spaces and work places. Beyond simple wall and floor specifications, the presentation revealed new opportunities, applications and sustainable technologies recently unveiled by the ceramic industry which are being adopted globally by design professionals.

Spanish Products at NeoCon 2010

Ceramica Elias offers a variety of products manufactured through both handmade practices and contemporary innovation. The various grades of roughness and flamed surface differ in each tile, enabling Elias to create beautiful, warm atmospheres for both interiors and exteriors. The Provenḉa Series appears as an aged, worn product with a very rustic appearance. Available in three colors to evoke the look of traditional terracotta fired in moruno kilns, where products were partly burnt, under-fired and well-fired, depending on kiln conditions.

One of Keraben’s newest introductions is the Urban Collection, a compact and resilient porcelain material that’s highly technical with strong aesthetic value. The technical properties make it highly resistant to scratches, heavy wear and tear and stress. With 80% recycled material recovered during the production process for water, clay, combustible energy and raw materials, Urban also offers unique applications for sustainable architecture, ventilated facades and elevated technical floors. These unglazed, impervious porcelain paver tiles guarantee high-performance and safety features as well as versatility with six colors, six formats and two finishes.

Natucer earned the Alfa De Plato Award for its new architectural collection LifeArq, innovative wall solutions for architecture and urban environments. A study of light and space resulted in four classes of ceramic, each with a specific characteristic and function designed to satisfy the needs of the construction and design markets for an active and dynamic society. They include:

Bamboo, narrow porcelain columns in a variety of colors that when grouped together create a sunshade or can be used for architectural solutions. Colors include Frost, Dark, Crimson, Yolk and Gem. Format is 3.1” diameter x 11.5” and 3.1” diameter x 2.8”.

Ivy – In a 2.2” x 7.1” format, these special pieces can be stacked using an internal steel support structure to create a partially shaded wall or even an outdoor enclosure.

Scale - Offers a ceramic siding alternative with gently overlapping edges in format 13.8” x 3.9” in colors Frost, Lead, Grizzly and Dark.

Channel – Offers another exterior façade application but with more angular approach. Formats include 2.5” x 14.2”, 3.5” x 14.2” and 4.5” x 14.2”.

Roca Ceramica displayed their ground-breaking Top Green Collection which includes the Green Earth and Green Urban series, tiles produced with 80% recycled pre-consumer waste. The Green Earth series reflects earth colors, including ochre-brownish tones. This porcelain tile is an ideal solution for interior spaces with rustic character. Available in beige, crème and ocre. Formats include 17”x17”, 17”x29”, and 12”x12” tile. For a concrete stone finish, Roca offers the Green Urban series. With outstanding performance, this porcelain tile is available in anthracite and gray and is suitable for floor space or wall covering as well as for technical purposes targeting both interiors and exteriors. Green Urban’s minimalism compliments a broad range of style décor, from traditional to contemporary. Available in a 19”x19” format.

Roca Ceramica also showed Pret-A-Porter, an innovative and exclusive system for dry laying floor tiles. Characterized by the absence of grout and mortar, the product has a polymer base laminated to the ceramic tile. The base includes a soft joint that seals every tile without the need for grouting, and a rubber membrane attached to the base that provides anti-skid benefits.

With no mortar or grout, Pret-A-Porter flooring can be used immediately after laying. Offering the utmost versatility, Pret-A-Porter is ideal for both residential and commercial use in shops, hotel or apartment building lobbies as well as temporary architectural applications like showrooms, runways, or exhibitions. It’s also optimal for radiant floors and facilities that may require frequent maintenance as all tiles may be removed individually as needed.

The product embodies high sustainability characteristics as it can be installed directly over an existing floor (provided it is level and stable) meaning there is no need for demolition of an old floor and sending unnecessary waste to a landfill. Each piece is 100% reusable, meeting ISO 14021 requirements. The Pret-A-Porter Collection offers diverse design choices as the 17” x 17” format is available in basic white, crema marfil, three colors of cement (anthracite, sand and ocre) and three colors of stone (sand, beige and brown).

Inalco showed the Sensations Collection, the result of a joint venture between Inalco and architecture studio Bunch, S.L. headed by Sara de la Mata. Bionictile uses titanium dioxide-infused glazes to combat nitrogen oxide (NOx), the air contaminant responsible for acid rain and a leading cause of climate change and pulmonary diseases. Bionictile turns the pollutant into benign nitrates that can then feed the plants held by Lifewall.

Inalco showed that its products can be used anywhere in the home by creating a modern villa, called Inalco Casa. Because of our manufacturers’ modern designs, boundless creativity, constant technological strides and a firm commitment to the environment. In those regards, we feel this campaign says it all.”

Officially unveiled at Cevisama in February, the campaign will be showcased in all Tile of Spain collateral materials, premiums and booth design at Coverings and other 2010 events. Also prevalent in print and digital advertising, the campaign is supported by four ads that will run in multiple trade and B2B publications over the course of the year. Each ad touts a different industry focus of the Spanish sector: “Not Only Design”, “It’s Time for Innovation”, “All Power to Technology” and “Now...Ecology.” The headline is then answered with the definitive statement “Yes, We Choose Spanish Ceramic.”

The look of the campaign juxtaposes strong messaging with bold graphic treatments and the use of a striking magenta. While subtly paying homage to Spain’s cultural heritage, the campaign emphasizes Spain’s leadership role and irrefutable place at the cutting edge of ceramic tile design and innovation.

Embracing a Digital Platform

In an effort to make product information and images more accessible to the U.S. press, Tile of Spain will soon launch a new digital pressroom. Journalists and other interested parties will find this online tool useful in gathering news and information about products, technology and events. A photo gallery will include an extensive range of images for interiors and exteriors, commercial and residential applications. A calendar will supply all pertinent details about upcoming events. All in one easy-to-use online location. The digital pressroom will launch in mid-April.

Upcoming Events in 2010

Exemplifying Spain’s commitment and investment in the US market, there will be multiple opportunities for the A&D community and press to see Spanish ceramic up close and personal.
